The optical fibre loopback, also known as the optical module self-loop test loopback, is used to test the signal return in a system or network system. By returning the signal (mainly in pairs connecting the TX transmitter to the RX receiver side), various potential anomalies in the network link can be detected. The optical signal in the optical fibre will reduce the optical power during transmission due to absorption, scattering etc. This optical fibre loss has an important impact on the communication distance, and the fibre optic looper is mainly used for fibre optic testing and network repair for the above situation.
Because the fiber optic connectors are divided into LC, SC, FC, ST, MU, MT, MPO/MTP, etc., so there are also very corresponding types of fiber optic loopers.

Optical fibre looper (Lookback)
MTP / MPO Loopback (Loopback) contains MPO loopback jumper, both ends of the fiber are threaded into a MTP / MPO connector to achieve the optical path in the same connector, without changing the signal or repeating the signal back to its own. It provides an effective solution for testing the transmit and receive sensitivity of network equipment, particularly in 40/100G networks, by locating potential phenomena through the return signal, thus enabling effective testing and evaluation of individual components or interfaces on the fibre optic network and the network.
