UK pure fibre provider County Broadband has announced that "thousands" of homes will benefit when construction begins in nine new villages across Suffolk. As County Broadband confirms that it is working with its build partners AB Installs and Highway Workforce to deliver the new infrastructure, it has named the deployment sites as Bentley, Brantham, Capel St. Mary, Copdock, Washbrook Layham, Nayland-with-Wissington, Raydon and Stratford St. Mary.
James Salmon, Director of Sales and NT for County Broadband, commented, "We are excited to begin construction of our new full fiber network in these nine Suffolk villages. It was clear from the homes and businesses we spoke to that the existing copper-based infrastructure simply wasn't up to the modern demands of remote working, streaming and accessing online services.
In terms of its broader deployment plans, County Broadband has identified 500,000 sites for deployment of fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP) connectivity to rural and hard-to-reach communities in the East of England by 2027, following a £146 million ($179 million) private investment from Aviva Investors.
