ZTE Helps Upgrade Ningxia's IP Transport Network

Jan 05, 2022

ZTE China announced that it has helped Ningxia Cable TV Network Co., Ltd. successfully upgrade its IP transport network by upgrading the existing ZXR10 T8000 ZTE core routers from standalone to cluster.

The upgrade will enable Ningxia Cable TV Network to optimize and improve network performance to better support traditional services such as broadband TV and cloud access services such as converged media, while accelerating network clouding and building a cloud-based service platform to implement centralized management of service resources.

In 2020, the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT) began to integrate the national cable TV network with the construction of the broadcasting 5G network. The Ningxia cable TV network aims to build a reliable IP cloud-based metropolitan area network (MAN) architecture.

ZTE provides clustered core routers at the core layer of the operator's network. The service control layer uses a C/U separated vBRAS architecture, and the aggregation layer is configured with data centre switches and SDN controllers.

As ZTE's high-end flagship router, the ZXR10 T8000 has been in operation for more than a decade since its launch. It has been widely used in 26 Chinese provinces and several countries.

The router with integrated internal chipset has ultra-low power consumption. It supports millisecond fast protection switching, which ZTE says significantly enhances network robustness. With innovative SRv6/SDN/FlexE technology, it flexibly supports high-speed interfaces from GE to 400GE, providing large bandwidth for home broadband, 4K/8K HD video and enterprise private line services.

It also supports innovative liquid cooling technology, which can effectively reduce energy consumption in the server room.
