Indonesian operator XL Axiata has selected Juniper Networks to upgrade its existing network infrastructure to support the growing demand for 5G services.
XL Axiata will implement Juniper Networks' IPv6 Segmented Routing (SRv6) and MX Series common routing platforms for the network modernization project.
Indonesia is expected to have more than 233 million mobile data subscribers by 2026, which will drive the country's data economy and is expected to contribute more than $150 million to GDP by 2025.
The government has taken steps to improve connectivity, notably the Digital Indonesia Roadmap, which prioritizes building 4G infrastructure in more than 10,000 sub-regions and developing 5G ready networks by 2022.
