Open Dutch Fiber (ODF) has accelerated the deployment of its fiber network after passing 600,000 homes.
This means that after supplementing its footprint with the acquisition of E-Fiber and an accelerated rollout, ODF will achieve its initial goal of 1 million homes this year, instead of the planned 2025.
As a result, the company has raised its goal of connecting more than 2 million urban and rural households by 2025. The company offers an open wholesale platform for all operators.
Founded in 2021 by investment firm KKR in partnership with investment management platform DTCP, this independent infrastructure platform has already signed turnkey construction contracts for 1.5 million homes, enabling it to set construction prices and hedge against global inflationary pressures. The launch is fully funded by a combination of equity and debt, with an estimated investment of more than €1.8 billion. The company also recently announced an increase in its debt financing to €1.15 billion.
Floris van den Broek, CEO of Open Dutch Fiber, said: "I am proud of the 600,000 homes we have already established with our partners for fast and stable fiber connections. We have identified a high and growing demand for fast fiber connections and stable Internet, so we see an opportunity to increase our rollout goals to provide fiber to more Dutch households."
