The Dutch telecom giant announced yesterday that it has agreed to acquire the fiber optic broadband access network of Primevest Capital Partners in the Netherlands, which consists of 127,000 homes in the metropolitan areas of The Hague, Rotterdam and Eindhoven. KPN said the undisclosed value deal further strengthens its fiber footprint in major cities and is in line with its strategy to expand its fiber access network to cover approximately 80 percent of the Netherlands by 2026. The deal is expected to close by the end of 2018 this month.

The acquisition of Primevest's fiber network is a useful addition to our existing fiber footprint, which totals 4 million homes," said Wouter Stammeijer, chief technology and digital officer at KPN. We have made great strides in rolling out fiber, which is at the core of our strategy. Over the next few years, we will focus entirely on completing this project.
TeleGeography's GlobalComms database notes that Primevest launched its Dutch open access gigabit fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) infrastructure in 2020/21 in partnership with Dutch operator T-Mobile; the network does not appear to be expanding further in 2022/23.
