Fiber optic network provider Glo Fiber, a subsidiary of Shenandoah Telecommunications Corporation (Shentel), is now rolling out symmetrical 5Gb/s fiber optic Internet service in all of its markets. More than 147,000 homes in Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania will receive faster fiber speeds.
Delivering next-generation fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) multi-gigabit broadband Internet access, live TV and digital home phone service powered by Shentel. The company is able to achieve symmetrical Internet speeds of up to 10Gb/s using XGS-PON technology.
The addition of 5 Gig Internet service to our multi-gigabit portfolio allows Glo Fiber to meet the needs of our customers and communities," said Ed McKay, Shentel's chief operating officer. 5 Gig is a premium residential service designed to connect multiple devices at the fastest possible speed over a reliable 100% fiber network."
