
Claro Puerto Rico announced that its Fiber to the Home (FTTH) network now reaches 600,000 homes and businesses island-wide. The network is capable of supporting 1Gbps downstream/upstream speeds across 19,019 kilometers. More than half of Puerto Rico's 78 municipalities have more than 50 percent fiber coverage, with Aguadilla topping the list with more than 95 percent.
The company said the network offers a "more robust Internet connectivity experience," with download and upload speeds capable of reaching 1,000 megabits per second.

The company recently announced that out of 78 cities, Aguadilla became the town with the highest fiber deployment rate, with more than 95 percent coverage.
Municipalities that have surpassed 50 percent fiber coverage include Adjuntas, Aguada, Aguas Buenas, Añasco, Arecibo, Cabo Rojo, Camuy, Ciales, Coamo, Comerío, Corozal, Dorado, Florida, Guánica, Guayanilla, Hatillo, Humacao , Isabela, Hajua, Lajas, Lares, Las Marías, Manatí, Maricao, Maunabo, Mayagüez, Moca, Moroves, Naranjito, Patillas, Penuelas, Quebradillas, Rincón, Salinas, San Jermán, San Sebastián, Toa Alta, Utuado. Vega Alta, Vega Baja, Villalba and Yauco.
Claro's fiber optic network allows customers to experience ultra-fast speeds that enable 4K video streaming, remote work, "bufferless" gaming and instant downloads of large files.
In addition, Claro's fiber has an energy backup system that can be aggregated to keep services running even during power outages.
